Camp Dates and Location or… All you really need to know!

The OPUS Chamber Music Camp is for musicians of all levels between the ages of 8 and 18.

July 31st - August 6th 2010

Location:

Scholl Hall at Benedictine University, Lisle, IL Map  Directions

Schedule by Day:

Saturday, July 31st

A live audition is required for any camper who does not submit a recorded audition on or before July 1st. Auditions are held to determine group placement based on skill level and age group.

Sunday, August 1st

Campers receive a private lesson with a faculty member. This lesson is required for all campers to help familiarize them with their new music and give them tools for preparing it before camp begins. This private lesson is included in the camp tuition

Monday-Friday, August 2nd - 6th (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Camp is held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students are expected to be in attendance for the entire day, on each day of camp. Extended Hours: Early drop-off and late pick-up may be arranged prior to camp.

Classes: Chamber Music Coaching & Rehearsals, Master Classes, Faculty Performances, Chamber Orchestra for String players and Handbell Choir for Pianists and Winds, Special Workshops, Quiz Bowl and more!

Friday, August 6th 6:30 PM Student Concert

The “Listen to Our Young Artists” Concert will be held on Friday evening, at Knox Presbyterian Church, in Naperville. This free concert is open to the public, and we encourage everyone to bring friends & family.

The Week Following Camp (Exact Date TBA) Community Service Concert at Edward Hospital Cancer Center

This is a wonderful opportunity for campers to share their music with patients and their families at Edward Hospital Cancer Center, in Naperville, IL. Participation in this informal concert is encouraged.
