Philosophy of the OPUS Chamber Music Camp
Enthusiastic young musicians come to the OPUS Camp to improve their music skills,
learn new practice techniques, and develop a greater understanding of music. Through
the study of chamber music, they leave our camp with a much deeper appreciation
and love of music performance.
We believe in the value of teaching chamber music to our students. As they learn
how to work together as members of a small, interdependent group, they experience
collaborative work in pursuit of their shared goals, and ultimately, they discover
the joy that comes from sharing their music with the community.
OPUS is extremely fortunate to have such distinguished faculty
teaching our students. Our faculty brings a remarkable depth and breadth of experience
with chamber music to the OPUS music programs. All of our faculty members are professional
musicians with an extensive background in chamber music performance, and a strong
affinity for teaching young musicians.
