OPUS is pleased to announce it’s 2022 in-person Chamber Music Camp with Arts Connections and Culture Workshops, Orchestras, Handbells, and a Flash Mob Ensemble Performance. Additionally, a Special Masterclass-Chat-Q&A with a Renowned World-Class Artist.
The camp has been planned to be in-person on the campus of North Central College, Naperville, IL. (Plan B – will switch to Hybrid or Virtual should we have the virus restrictions again.)
Camp Week: August 1 – August 6, 2022, North Central College (NCC)
- Orientation: Afternoon of Sunday July 31st.
- Classes on campus at NCC daily 9-5
- “Listen to Our Young Artists” Concert: All Campers perform at 1:00 – 4:00 pm concert on August 6th at Wentz Concert Center, Naperville. The Call Time is 11:00 AM for the Sound Check.
Faculty to select camper ensembles to perform on August 8th, 2 pm in Wentz Concert Hall for Salute, Honor, and Love Concert dedicated to veterans and seniors. The concert will be aired (may be LIVE) by NCTV17.
Please note: Training young musicians to play chamber music in a small ensemble of three to six players requires a high teacher to student (1 to 3 or 4) ratio, and hence it is much more cost-intensive compared the cost of an orchestra (1 conductor to 60 to 120 students).
Camp Brochure can be found here.
